Orientation Module 3

This module includes the following sections

* Writing Annotations

This is the longest module in the orientation and the most detailed but it focuses on the most important thing for graduate students - writing well. The bulk of the points for the class are also due this module.
The Module Three Assignments are:
REFERENCES AND ANNOTATIONS:

| Points: | 40 points |
| Details: | Based on your search of the IUPUI Library databases and Google Scholar choose 3 articles from peer reviewed journals; at least 1 must be a report on primary research. Write a full APA reference for all 3 articles. Read all three articles and choose one of the three on which to write an approximately 300 word annotation. Turn in the three references and the annotation by uploading a Word document to the "Annotation Assignment" on the "Assignments" page. |
| Notes: | I'm serious about the 300 word limit. If it is over by more than 50 words I will send it back for a re-write. I will also send it back to you for a re-do if the reference format is not correct. This is supposed to be a learning experience so if it takes you a couple of tries to get this assignment right it's fine. I have built in an extra week to give everyone a chance to re-do as needed. The goal is that you can write these well. |

| Once I let you know that your references are correct and your annotation well written I will ask you to post your references and annotation in the Module Three Discussion Forum so others can see what you read. Please do not post your assignment there until I have looked at/graded it. |
APA STYLE QUIZ:

| Details: | This is a quiz over APA formatting for references and citing within text. It is open note but I strongly recommend you read the material, do the tutorial, and watch the PowerPoint presentation before beginning the quiz. I also recommend reviewing the feedback I give you on your Annotation assignment, resubmitting it to me, and making sure it is right before doing the quiz. It is timed at 90 minutes and if you try to find things without reading in advance you will not have enough time to complete it. |
